In Rogaland, the E39 Rogfast road project is crossing the Boknafjord and Kvitsøyfjord north of Stavanger with an underwater tunnel. The tunnel will run from Randaberg in the south to Bokn in the north, with a detour to the island community of Kvitsøy in the middle of the fjord.

Rogfast will be the world's longest and deepest underwater tunnel, and will help reduce travel time between Bergen and Stavanger by around 40 minutes. The aim is to bring the business community and population of Western Norway closer together, and the tunnel is the first ferry replacement project in an ambition for a ferry-free E39 between Kristiansand in the south and Trondheim in the north.

As the client, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration needs office facilities close to the tunnel work and contractors. Stord Innkvatering has provided two office rigs for the project. One is located on Kvitsøy and houses 585 square meters of offices and meeting rooms. The other is located in Mekjarvik in Randaberg and houses 1,600 square meters of offices and meeting rooms.
