The road project E10 / rv. 85 Tjeldsund - Gullesfjordbotn - Langvassbukt, also known as Hålogalandsvegen, is Northern Norway's largest transport project of all time. The road project will improve traffic safety and accessibility in the region, and will link Sortland, Kvæfjord, Lødingen, Tjeldsund and Harstad more closely together.
The section is part of the transport link between Lofoten, Vesterålen Harstad/Narvik Airport and the E6, and a total of 82 kilometers of new road will be built, including 27 kilometers through a total of seven tunnels. The project also includes 22 bridges. Construction started in August 2023 and the planned construction time is 5.5 years.
While the work is going on, the many road workers of turnkey contractor Skanska and its subcontractors must have decent living conditions. We ensure this with our delivery of 352 rooms divided into two camps. Both camps are also equipped with their own canteens, ensuring proper nourishment before and after a hard day's work.
